Georges-Lucien Guyot (1885-1973) Stag Watercolor and gouache over black pencil lines Sight H. 23 x W. 16.5 cm, in a modern gilded frame H. 31 x W. 25 cm Georges-Lucien Guyot, a key figure in animal sculpture in the Thirties and a close associate of Pompon, was a member of the Groupe des Douze artistic movement, along with Jeanne Poupelet and Paul Jouve, among others. Until the end of his life, he occupied Picasso's studio at the Bateau-Lavoir.
