Georges-Lucien Guyot (1885-1973) Large lioness head Bronze with green-brown patina Signed "Guyot". Stamped "FONDERIE / DE LA / PLAINE" and numbered "EA I/IV". A key figure in animal sculpture in the Thirties and a close associate of Pompon, Georges-Lucien Guyot was part of the Groupe des Douze artistic movement, along with Jeanne Poupelet and Paul Jouve, among others. Until the end of his life, he occupied Picasso's studio at the Bateau-Lavoir.
