[MacOrlan, Pierre] - An Alphabet Book for Girls and Beloved Children. No place, no date. 12mo, paperback with a pink cloth-covered dust jacket illustrated with a repeating red alphabet (16 x 14.9 cm) and an illustrated slipcase - [32 leaves, including 2 blank leaves at the beginning; the first has foxing] - Each letter of the alphabet, set within a double brick-red frame with backgrounds of varying shades, is adorned with a freehand illustration and followed by a quatrain on the opposite page. Printed in a run of 200 numbered copies; this one is one of 150 printed on Lafuma pure-fiber vellum (no. 117). (Pia, *Les Livres de l’Enfer*, p. 26). This reprint of the 1924 edition differs from it in its presentation under a different cover and in illustrations that are more explicit regarding the virile nature of “l’Enfant chéri.” The print run is also different. One might conjecture a later date [1930?]. The attribution to Pascin, sometimes suggested, is entirely unjustified here.
