"S.G.D.G. Patented Alphabet Dominoes." French domino set from the 19th century (c. 1870) made of ebony and bone, two recessed circular medallions feature printed color designs—one depicting the 26 letters of the alphabet with examples of syllables or words, the other an illustrated motif. Consists of 28 dominoes: the 26 letters plus 2 for the title, accents, and punctuation. Mahogany box with one side missing. The letter “C” has a small chip in the bone. Aside from the box, overall condition: 8/10 - Rarity: 5/5.
