A pair of plain, spherical silver soap and sponge balls on a round pedestal. The lid of the soap ball is decorated with fillets. The sponge ball lid is pierced with lattice, tulip and teardrop motifs. Engraved at the bottom with a coat of arms: Azure, chevron Or, two escallops in chief, a sinister hand in base, under a duke's crown. By Pierre-Olivier Guidon. Poitiers, circa 1764-1765.
