Important Heriz carpet, Northwest Iran circa 1965/70 350 x 250 cm approx. Wool velvet on cotton backing Brick-red field decorated with garlands of stylized flowers and foliage, adorned with a large central polychrome floral rosette, four spandrels with geometrically stylized floral bulbs, three borders, the main one midnight blue, decorated in the same way as the central field. Beautiful polychromy, good overall condition
