Mario NISSIM (1907-1990) Lot of two works: - Woman with purple veil, 1944 Gouache on paper Monogrammed and dated "Avril 1944". 32 x 25 cm - Young woman and woman with hat, 1966 Gouache Signed and dated lower right 27 x 20 cm Mario Nissim was a Surrealist painter born in Greece. In 1930, he enrolled with André Lhote, but left for Fernand Léger's studio. He rubbed shoulders with such Surrealist poets as Breton, Éluard, Prévert, Soupault and Bryen.
