Alexandre Clerget (1856-1931) The reader Bronze print with double gold patina and medal Signed "A. Clerget" in the left rear corner, bears the circular foundry stamp "SIOT-DECAUVILLE FONDEUR PARIS" on the right rear edge, and the number "Q.569" on the left rear edge. H. 33.5 cm Alexandre Clerget, a pupil of Falguière, exhibited mainly female statuettes in the Art Nouveau style at the Salon from 1889 to 1924. The artist entrusted the Siot-Decauville foundry, renowned for its meticulous patinas, with the gilded bronze edition of several models, including the Liseuse, the Consultation and the Lotus and Iris candleholders.
