In-4 bound in full night-blue morocco, boards decorated with a rich 4-color mosaic gilded frame, surrounding a central composition of 8 mosaic interlaces formed of fawn, mauve and hazelnut morocco, set with palladium and surrounding 8 mosaic floral motifs (green, red and fawn), smooth spine adorned with 3 large mosaic fleurons in the same style; author and title in palladium, gilded head, double-framed listel of gilded fillets on the counterplates, set with silk prints of drawings by Jouas, loose brocaded silk endpapers, covers and spine preserved, shaped and bordered slipcase - first spine worn - [2 ff.], 359 pp, [1 p.]. Illustrated with 64 etchings by Jouas, including 16 h-t, printed in sepia by Porcabeuf. Edition of 250 copies, this one on vellum offered to M. Thomas by R. Kieffer, containing 3 states of the etchings, including the final one in sepia and 2 with remarks. Enriched with the original binding design, signed by. R. Kieffer.
