Jean-Charles Gallet (1637-1713) was a French astronomer born and died in Avignon. In his "Aurora Lavenica", Gallet proposes seven tables of the sun's revolutions and movements, indicating its true position, deduced from the foundations of the theory, as well as the time of its revolutions, determined by its apparently unequal motion around apogee and perigee. A work he describes as "a must-have for theologians, physicians, astronomers and the curious".
