Old Afchar, Iran, circa 1940/50 Wool velvet on wool foundation Beautiful polychromy, brick field with stylized caterpillar-like lace foliage surrounded by geometric flower buds in polychromy adorned with three hexagonal crenellated tobacco and Prussian blue medallions inlaid with crabs, turtles and geometrically multicolored stylized botehs. Four midnight-blue spandrels with rows of finely drawn botehs. Seven borders with burst diamond-shaped flower buds. Good condition, some natural oxidation. 164 x 138 cm
