Albert LAUZERO (1909-2006) River bank Oil on canvas Signed lower left 27 x 35 cm (missing and cracked) Albert Lauzero was one of the painters selected by the famous DURAND-RUEL gallery, to be exhibited there for over ten years until its closure in 1974. Numerous one-man shows were held in France and abroad, including 11 at the Jouvène gallery in Marseille, where this painting from the 1970s was acquired. Member of the Salon d'Automne committee, member of numerous salons such as Les Indépendants, Nationale des Beaux-Arts...Several prizes awarded, including the Grand Prix des Beaux Arts du Conseil général de la Seine Grand Prix de l'Ile de France in 1960. He was then a permanent painter at Galerie BERNHEIM-JEUNE in Paris. Some fifteen of his canvases were purchased by the French State and the City of Paris, and form part of the collections of the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, some of which are held by government ministries (Ministry of the Interior and Ministry of Justice). His work can also be found in the collections of numerous museums: Musée des Augustins in Toulouse, Musée de Sceaux (five canvases acquired by the museum in the 1950s-1960s, including "La maison de Guy de Maupassant à Sartrouville", for which he was awarded the Grand Prix des Beaux Arts de l'Ile de France in 1960), Musée Tavet in Pontoise, Meudon, Musée Daubigny in Auvers sur Oise, Nevers...
