Signed upper left. 16 x 8 cm (view) Louis Bouquet (1885-1952) was one of the leading figures in Lyon in the first half of the twentieth century, and a key player in the revival of fresco painting in France between the wars. His monumental art was showcased on the most prestigious worksites of the 1930s: the Salon de l'Afrique at the Musée des Colonies (1931) and the Église du Saint-Esprit in Paris (1933), the new town hall in Puteaux (1934), and the Grande Poste in Lyon (1937).
