Most probably the modello of the painting signed and dated Naigeon 1789 (canvas, 50 x 66 cm) which appeared in the sale Paris, Sotheby's, June 13, 2023, no. 41, reproduced.
Jean Naigeon is a painter always confused with Jean-Claude Naigeon. Jean trained at the Beaux-Arts in Dijon at the same time as Prud'hon. He joined David's studio in 1779 and, during the Consulate, was curator at the Musée du Luxembourg.
