Horst Egon KALINOWSKI (1924-2013) Body, 1958 Collage of previously painted paper, cardboard cut-outs and textile elements on cardboard, glued to paper, signed and dated lower right, titled lower left on the mounting sheet, dated and located lower right in Paris. Small folds, slight soiling and tears on the mounting sheet. Collage: 39.5 x 47.5 cm Mounting: 50 x 65.5 cm Provenance: Daniel Cordier Collection, Paris. Handwritten mention and inventory number of the DBC [Daniel Bouyjou-Cordier] collection on the back. Born in Düsseldorf in 1924, Horst Egon KALINOWSKI came to Paris in 1950 and continued his training at La Grande Chaumière, in Jean Dewasne's abstract art studio. A genius at collage, he rigorously selects the materials meticulous technique, Kalinowski first excelled in works on paper. Daniel Cordier, who exhibited his work in his gallery from 1958, was his greatest supporter.
