Horst Egon KALINOWSKI (1924-2013) Wheat from the Moon, 1960 Collage of cut paper and textile elements including fishnet and thread on cardboard, glued to paper, signed and dated upper right, titled lower left on the mounting sheet, dated and located Antibes lower right. Small folds, slight soiling and small tear on the mounting sheet. Collage: 47 x 40 cm Mounting: 65 x 50 cm Provenance: Daniel Cordier Collection, Paris. Handwritten mention and inventory number of the DBC [Daniel Bouyjou-Cordier] collection on the back. Born in Düsseldorf in 1924, Horst Egon KALINOWSKI came to Paris in 1950 and continued his training at La Grande Chaumière, in Jean Dewasne's abstract art studio. A genius at collage, he rigorously selects the materials meticulous technique, Kalinowski first excelled in works on paper. Daniel Cordier, who exhibited his work in his gallery from 1958, was his greatest supporter.
