One of the most representative sculptors of Art Deco, the Martel brothers collaborated with Mallet-Stevens for the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs, the 1928 Saint-Jean-de-Luz casino and the 1929 Union des Artistes Modernes (UAM) pavilion. The exceptional ensemble assembled here bears witness to the modernity sought by the sculptor brothers, who renewed figuration through cubist influence and geometric form, as well as their personal interest in dance and music.
