Two bronze baluster vases, possibly forming a pair, one decorated with branching birds, the other with an unfurled dragon, a workshop mark ''dai ni hon ...'' under the base. A carved bamboo shishi figure holding the ribboned ball is attached (crack; previously used as a box). Japan, 19th century. H. of the vases 15 cm and 15.7 cm; H. of the shishi 4.9 cm.
