Léon-Noël Delagrange (1872-1910) Miserere Terracotta with imitation wood patina Signed "DELAGRANGE Titled "MISERERE H. 50 cm Léon-Noël Delagrange was a pupil of Louis-Ernest Barrias and Charles Vital-Cornu. His entire body of work follows in his footsteps, and is largely composed of female figures in a spirit heralding Art Deco. Our interesting plaster work, with its trompe l'oeil patina and wood imitation, is inspired in particular by the work of Auguste Rodin, Camille Claudel and Jules Desbois on the theme of old age.
