Daughter of the King of the Two Sicilies, Francis I. Maria Antonia was also the granddaughter of Marie-Caroline of Austria, sister of Marie-Antoinette, hence her first name.
In 1833, she married Leopold II of Lorraine, Grand Duke of Tuscany. They lived in Florence until the 1859 revolution ousted them from the throne, then in Austria and Rome.
