Émile Fernand-Dubois (1869-1952) The Carrier Model exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1905 Bronze with light-brown patina Signed "E. Fernand-Dubois Bears the founder's stamp "CIRE PERDUE BISCEGLIA". H. 13.5 cm, on a blackened wooden base H. 4 cm A student of Aimé-Jules Dalou, Émile Fernand-Dubois became Auguste Rodin's practitioner, then worked in Pierre Bingen's foundry. He exhibited at the Salon des artistes français and the Salon des Indépendants. In 1921, he became the first curator of the Musée de la Loire in Cosne-Cours-sur-Loire, where many of his works are conserved, and was the founder of the association La Horde, created in 1925 to support artists in need.
