Signed "LAVAYSSE.A" in the plaster on the terrace and signed "LAVAYSSE.A" in pencil on the side of the terrace.

Best known for his animal sculptures, André Lavaysse exhibited alongside Pablo Picasso in 1947. After the Second World War, he also took part in numerous restoration projects for sculpted decorations on historical monuments, including the Ministry of the Navy, the Madeleine church and the Palais de l'Élysée in Paris.
