Georges Gardet (1863-1939) Panther stalking Bronze with green-brown patina Signed "G. GARDET" on the terrace Bears the founder's mark "SIOT PARIS" and n° "755L". H. 33 cm, terrace W. 31 x D. 17.5 cm Georges Gardet trained with Aimé Millet and Emmanuel Frémiet. Numerous bronze editions of his animal groups by various foundries reflect the sculptor's considerable success at the Salon, where he exhibited from 1883 to 1914.
