H. Approx. 60 cm on a cherry-red marble base. Eugène Marioton, brother of sculptor Claudius Marioton, devoted his artistic career to sculpture and medal engraving. His debut at the Sa- lon of 1882 heralded an abundant output that continued for some fifty years. His work is characterized by the diversity of its subjects (portraits, antique scenes, allegories, genre).
