(false title and title)-36 pp. preceded and followed by 3 ff. of endpapers, covers preserved Envoi from the author to Jules Claretie in purple ink on the false title : " To Mr. Jules Claretie. In testimony of my feelings and my deep gratitude. [Signed] Courteline". Bound in half black long-grain morocco, smooth spine with gilt ornament and lettering, boards covered with marbled paper. Spine unstained. La Conversion d'Alceste is a play in one act by Georges Courteline first performed on January 18, 1905 at the Comédie-Française. It is the sequel to Molière's Misanthrope, written in the same style, in alexandrines. It shows a changed Alceste, having decided to be more tolerant with his fellow men. Alas, the same setbacks happen to him.
