Edition secunda corrector. - Stockholm, Petri Hesselberg, 1782. 2 volumes in-8, fawn basane, ornate smooth spines, red edges - superficial spotting - xiv, 972 pp. (continuous pagination). Main work of Bergius, who was a student of Linnaeus, and a manual on natural medicines, compiled according to the sexual system of his master. The emphasis is on kitchen plants and for each medicinal and kitchen herb he describes in detail the appearance, properties and medicinal use. 3/ Nysten, P.-H. Paris, Béchet, 1832-1846. 28 volumes (out of 30, volumes 2 and 15 are missing) in-8, bound at the time in half tan leather, many worn bindings. 5/ - Broussais, F.-J.-V.- Histoire des Phlegmasies ou Inflammations chroniques, fondé sur de nouvelles observations de clinique et d'anatomie pathologique... Third edition, revised and increased with notes. Paris, Gabon, Crochard, 1822. 3 volumes in-8, bound in contemporary fawn half-calf, smooth spines decorated, red and green morocco titles and greefs, edges slightly rubbed - xxviij, 397 pp; [2 ff.], 668 pp; [2 ff.], 508 pp. Broussais' key word was "inflammation" and for him all pathological phenomena could be explained by the irritation and inflammation of tissues, especially those of the digestive tract. A good copy.
