Pasquier, Jacques-Jean and Denis, Louis. - Topographical and reasoned plan of Paris, a useful work for citizens and foreigners. Paris, chez Pasquier, 1758. In-12, bound in wine morocco, triple fillet, corner fleurons, smooth spine with 6 compartments, gilt edges, gilt paper endpapers. - Corners pierced, covers rubbed. - 3 ff. n.ch. (title, dedication, preface), 2 pl. of which one folding, 124 pp. (plans and description), 3 ff. n.ch. (places of the carriages, table of contents and privilege). Engraved bookplate of Antoine Louis, perpetual secretary of the royal academy of surgery. - Entirely engraved work presenting the general plan of Paris, an assembly plan, 40 detailed plans and a map of the surroundings of Paris (parts colored). In addition to these plans, there is a description of the districts and main monuments, a list of hotels, the location of fire pumps, mailboxes, carriage stations and a lot of other practical information. The whole is illustrated with a dozen charming vignettes representing monuments or scenes of Parisian life. Attached : Map of the surroundings of Paris divided into prefectures and sub-prefectures. Folding map 54,5 x 77 cm in a modest cardboard binding. - Two tears and a few folds on the map, small tears on the cardboard. - Placing Paris in the center, this map encompasses Chartres, Etampes, Bray-sur-Seine, Provins, Château-Thierry, Crépy en Valois, Senlis, Magny en Vexin, Mantes and Houdan.
