Léo Laporte-Blairsy (1867-1923) Woman with boxes Bronze with light brown patina Signed "LEO LAPORTE BLAIRSY Bears the numbers "60765" and "6 H. 46,5 cm Léo Laporte-Blairsy trained in the workshops of Alexandre Falguière and Antonin Mercié at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He exhibited regularly at the Salon des artistes français and won a silver medal at the 1900 Universal Exhibition. In addition to his war memorials, Léo Laporte-Blairsy produced Art Nouveau style statuettes of young women in historicist or local costumes.
