H. 168 L. 62 D. 30 cm PROVENANCE: castle of Grosbois. The castle of Grosbois in Boissy-Saint-Léger became, in 1801, the property of General Moreau, who bought its furniture from Jacob and Bellangé. At his fall in 1804, Napoleon I acquired it then in 1805 gave it to Marshal Berthier, prince of Wagram. The latter, appointed Grand Veneur, made Grosbois the most beautiful hunting ground in Europe.
