Aimé-Jules Dalou (1838-1902) 1902) Desperate Bronze with brown patina Signed "DALOU". Bears the founder's mark "Susse Fes Edtrs Paris" Bears the inscription "Cire perdue". H. 19.6 cm The dramatic figure of this nude young woman appears on one of the faces forming the relief base of the Monument à la Courtisane, created by Dalou between 1895 and 1902. The edition of La Désespérée, as an independent work, was produced by the Susse foundry in 1910.
