Set in polychrome 18K gold 750‰, consisting of an oval-shaped brooch, with enrubanné motifs, adorned in its center with a porcelain medallion, painted with an antique scene and a pair of earrings, patterned. French work, circa 1850. Transformations, systems changed, chips to the porcelain.
In a case lined with blue velvet and silk, marked T. Fontana & Cie , Palais Royal, 93 & 94 près la Rotonde, Paris. Ciphered JC and stamped with a marquis's crown. Probably one of Thomas Fontana's first addresses.
