Formé auprès des sculpteurs Emmanuel Fontaine et
Formé auprès des sculpteurs Emmanuel Fontaine et Antonin Larroux, Paul-François Berthoud est l’un des fondateurs du Salon d’automne. En 1900, passionné par les arts du spectacle et en particulier le théâtre, Berthoud connait un important succès pour son buste en terre cuite figurant Sarah Bernhardt (Clermont-Ferrand, musée d’art Roger-Quilliot, inv. 984.1.101).
