Paul-François Berthoud (1870-1939) Portrait of an actress Circa 1920 Bronze bust with brown patina Signed "P F - Berthoud" on the right shoulder Bears the founder's stamp "Montagutelli Paris Cire Perdue". H. 44 cm, on a green marble base H. 11.5 cm Trained by the sculptors Emmanuel Fontaine and Trained by sculptors Emmanuel Fontaine and Antonin Larroux, Paul-François Berthoud was one of the founders of the Salon d'Automne. In 1900, with his passion for the performing arts and theater in particular, Berthoud enjoyed great success with his terracotta bust of Sarah Bernhardt (Clermont-Ferrand, Musée d'art Roger-Quilliot, inv. 984.1.101).
