Jean Lambert-Rucki (1888-1967) Saint Simon the Apostle Proof in bronze Wooden base Signed on the back : " LAMBERT-RUCKI ". H. (with the base) : 28 cm / C. : 6,5 cm Jean Lambert-Rucki was born in Krakow in 1888 where he attended the local school of fine arts. He went to Paris in 1911 where he met Kisling during a stay in Russia. He shared a studio with Modigliani and became friends with Miklos, Czaky and Survage. He collaborated with Jean Dunand for many years, worked with Jacques-Emile Ruhlmann in 1925 and became a member of the UAM in 1930. It was during this period that his work evolved and that he produced a series of religious works, representing in particular the Saints and Christ. In 1938, he participated in the Salon d'Art Sacré. He continued to exhibit there after the war while exploring new materials such as metal and embossed sheet metal. Several of his works are kept in the Musée des Années Trente in Boulogne-Billancourt.
