Georges Muguet (1903-1988) The hero Bronze with brown patina Signed "G. H. 87.5 cm The back of the spear is missing With athletic élan, this antique-style warrior prepares to throw his spear; his dynamic, tense attitude reflects Antoine Bourdelle's influence on his pupil Georges Muguet. Based at the Villa Boileau, Muguet took part in various Parisian salons, such as the Salon d'Automne, the Salon des Indépendants and the Salon des Artistes français, where he mainly exhibited portraits, female nude studies and Orientalist subjects.
