Arno Breker (1900-1991) Crouching female nude Etching Signed and numbered 1/10 Sight with margins: 17 x 20.5 cm Provenance: Dominique and Denise Egret Collection The son of a sculptor, Arno Breker entered the Düsseldorf School of Fine Arts in 1919, then moved to Paris in 1925, where he trained with Despiau and admired the work of Maillol. After a stay in Italy, he returned to Germany in 1937. Influenced by the canons of ancient Greece, he sculpted athletic figures.
