Martial Adolphe Thabard (1831-1905) Snake charmer Bronze with light brown patina Signed " A. THABARD" on the front on the terrace H. 42,5 cm, on a marble base of 4,5 cm Adolphe Thabard was a student of Francisque Duret and made his debut at the Salon in 1863. The Charmer in its marble version appeared at the 1875 Salon and at the 1878 Universal Exhibition. It was purchased by the State and can still be seen in the gardens of the Palais Royal in Paris.
