The Draped Figure is the sketch for the Virgin placed in the church of Rochefort-en-Yvelines. Commissioned from Charles Auffret by the parish, the statue of the Virgin, made of wood in a larger-than-life size, is still housed in the church today. From its creation, Charles Auffret gave the sketch of the Virgin a life independent of that of the finished work. Named Draped Figure or The Meditation, it is published in bronze, and presented in the exhibitions of artiste : Stockholm, 1970; Blois, 1979; Paris, 1986; Brest, 1995.
