Paris: Jean Guignard, 1670. 1 vol., in-12, bound in brown morocco leather, covers and spine decorated with small metal stamps, mosaic-patterned fillets, gilt edges, and a small inner lace trim. - Corners slightly dented; slight lifting of the leather on the upper edge; lower edge slightly split. - 348 pp.—A charming edition in an attractive period binding of one of those short novels that, in the 1660s and 1670s, replaced lengthy epics such as *L’Astrée* or *Le Grand Cyrus* in the public’s favor. This short story remains anonymous. Only one copy is listed in the CCFR (Arsenal).
