Palasi, Philippe. - Historical and Monumental Armorial of th - Lot 373
Palasi, Philippe. - Historical and Monumental Armorial of the Aube. 13th–19th Centuries. Chaumont, LePythagore, 2008. 2 large quarto volumes, illustrated publisher’s hardcovers, slipcase—360 pp.; 361–720 pp. Illustrated with 850 photographs of identified coats of arms, primarily in color. The work describes 2,500 identified blazoned coats of arms. Building on the work of Louis Le Clert and François Chandon de Briailles, Ph. Palasi conducted a systematic survey throughout the Aube department of all media that might have preserved traces of coats of arms (books, architecture, paintings, gold and silverware, stained glass, fireplace plaques, etc.). At the end of the volume, there is a table of alliances and fiefs and a heraldic index. Richly illustrated. Also included by the same author: Historical and Monumental Armorial of the Haute-Marne. 13th–19th Centuries. Chaumont, Le Pythagore, 2004. Large quarto in publisher’s illustrated cardboard binding in color—376 pp. Extensive color illustrations. At the end, a heraldic index and an index of place names and people’s names. Both volumes are in mint condition.
