The title and the 25 letters are illustrated in red (the “W” was omitted). Each letter is accompanied by a poem dedicated to it. Printed in an edition of 500 copies; this one is no. 211 [on Japanese paper]. First edition. The author is one of the figures in “Le Coin de Table,” Fantin-Latour’s famous 1872 painting depicting eight precursors of Symbolism (Verlaine, Rimbaud, Bonnier, Aicard, Blémont, Valade, d’Hervilly, Pelletan).
