Kachan Kork Rug Iran, Shah era, circa 1940–1950 Lambswool pile, silky in texture, on a cotton backing. Prayer-shaped rug with an ivory field decorated with a crenellated mihrab featuring a vase with a bouquet of delicately rendered flowers in polychrome, surrounded by two columns and multicolored flowering plants. Main border in Prussian blue with motifs echoing the central field Density approx. 7,000 knots per square decimeter (good overall condition) 203 x 127 cm
