Maria PERGAY (1930-2023) Wave pouffe, model created in 1969 Folded stainless steel stool Stains and small scratches on seat, oxidation on base and underside 40 x 121 x 40 cm Provenance: collection of American architect and decorator Constantin Vichey (1933-2026), then by descent Bibliography: Suzanne Demisch, Stéphane Danant, op. cit. a similar model reproduced in duplicate on pages 111 and 112 under reference 21 This piece of furniture was acquired in New York in the early 1970s from Harvey Probber, Maria Pergay's distributor in the United States, for the decor that Constantin Vichey created for the Vth Avenue apartment of his father Luben Vichey and his mother-in-law Anna Vichey. After the couple's death, Constantin Vichey brought the pouffe back to France, first to furnish a family home in the Gard region, then to his personal home in Bordeaux, where it remained until his death.
