Folk art - France - XIXth century Exceptional boxwood snuffbox with rebus [Curiosa]. The opening side is decorated with rosettes and a bird. The back features a rebus of symbols, drawings and writing engraved on the reverse. According to a text preserved inside, it could read: "I like girls with a full hand, those who quilt with a needle and soubrettes with pretty breasts". 5.5 x 9.5 cm
