Folk art - France - XIXth century Revolutionary-style wooden snuffbox, painted in the shape of a hoof, with the inscription "Samson... à ta santé citoyen, n'éternue pas dans le panier" around the rim. The lid is decorated with a Phrygian cap, Masonic symbols and the date 1789.
