Hans PFEIFFER (1907-1994), a student of Paul Klee and Vassily Kandinsky at the Bauhaus, was a German-born, naturalized French abstract artist, whose work is based on chromatic visual elaborations. Through subtle interplays of light and fade, his compositions question perception prefigure optical art. His work, often likened to musical harmony, is not unrelated to the development of his treatise his treatise Harmonie des couleurs (1956).
