Simon Goldberg (1913-1985) Woman leaning Plaster H. 27 x W. 32 x D. 14 cm This seated woman is a study for a government commission in 1938. Simon Goldberg was only 25 years old. Fresh from the École des Arts Appliqués, where Robert Wlérick (1882-1944) taught him modeling, and Charles Malfray (1887-1940) drawing. His studio mates were Jean Carton (1911-1988), Raymond Corbin (1907-2002) and Raymond Martin (1910-1992). Friendships were forged and he became part of a family of artists.
