Gilbert Auguste Privat (1892-1969) Bust of Diana White marble Signed "G. PRIVAT" on the left arm H. 32 cm Gilbert Privat executed this terracotta and marble bust of Diana in two sizes (H. 20 cm and H. 32 cm). The sculptor, a pupil of Jules Coutan and winner of the Prix de Rome, developed a harmonious, poetic sculptural style in pursuit of a feminine ideal, while drawing on the ancient models that punctuated his training.
