H. 38 x W. 48.5 x D. 16 cm Damage and missing parts, soiling This patinated plaster group depicting two bacchantes with bunches of grapes is one of a series of Art Deco statuettes by sculptor Richard Guino. The sensuality of this composition reflects the artist's search the artist's search for an antique ideal. After collaborating with Auguste Renoir, for whom he created sculptures inspired by the painter's paintings, Richard Guino devoted himself to his own work. Supported by the Galerie Hébrard, which dedicated his first exhibition to him in November 1919, he enjoyed rapid success, producing 93 terracottas and 19 models. Two further exhibitions were organized in 1922 and 1923.
