Simone Boutarel (1892-1987) Guinea fowl Bronze with brown patina Signed "S. Boutarel Bears the mark of the Fonderie Coopérative des artistes "CFA PARIS". H. 25.5 x W. 16.8 x D. 12.1 cm A student of Paul Landowski at the Académie Julian, Simone Boutarel exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants and the Salon des Artistes français from 1925. The bronze edition of this model was produced by the Fonderie Coopérative des artistes. This foundry, which was active between 1920 and 1946, was designed to serve artists in their best interests, by enabling sculptors and art workers to work together in a spirit of solidarity, without making a profit.
